From Start to Finish: How We Create Your Perfect uPVC Windows

At Majestic Designs, we’re proud to manufacture all our windows and doors right here in the United Kingdom. From our state-of-the-art factories in Cheddar, we produce thousands of windows and doors every year, each made with incredible attention to detail.
You may not have thought much about how your uPVC windows are made, but there’s a lot that goes into ensuring they’re the perfect fit for your home. Here’s an inside look at how we bring them to life.
-
Choosing Your Windows
Before we can start making your windows, you’ll need to decide on a window style. We have endless options to choose from, from sleek casement and classic sash windows to stylish bay and versatile tilt and turn designs. You can also personalise your windows with a colour to match your home’s character. If you’re unsure which style or shade would work best, our team is always here to help.
We’ll visit your home to take measurements and talk you through the different styles available. If you already have a design or colour in mind, we’ll bring samples so you can see how they look in person.
-
Creating Your Window Profile
Once you’ve chosen your window style, picked a colour and we’ve taken all the necessary measurements, we can start the manufacturing process. Our uPVC windows are made from long strips of uPVC called ‘profiles’. These profiles have to be created before they can be used to build the frames. In the window industry, this process is called ‘extrusion’.
We source all our uPVC profiles from a specialist extrusion company in Tewkesbury, known for producing window profiles of exceptional quality. This ensures the highest levels of thermal and acoustic performance in the finished window, contributing to the A+14 energy rating of our windows. Once the profiles arrive at our factories in Cheddar, our window fabricators get to work.
-
Assembling Your Windows
Using the latest precision machinery, our team carefully assembles each window. This labour-intensive, intricate process involves cutting the profile to size, fusion-welding the joints at 254℃ and finishing the frames to a high standard using special machines.
We use ‘virgin’ extruded uPVC, meaning the material has never been recycled or repurposed. This guarantees a fault-free product and flawless finish. After the fabrication process is complete, your hardware is affixed and the glazing is carefully installed.
Before your windows leave the factory, each one goes through a final quality check, where we polish the frames to perfection and inspect every detail to make sure they meet our high standards. Once everything is complete, your new windows are ready to be installed in your home.
-
Installing Your New Windows
We waste no time getting your new windows to you so you can start enjoying the benefits of your new glazing from Majestic Designs. Every installer on our team is fully employed by us, MTC registered and FENSA accredited – so you can be confident your installation meets the highest industry standards.
