Stunning high-performance conservatories tailored to you and your home

Conservatories have a long history here in the UK, but are most often recognised as a symbol of the iconic Victorian Era. Following the construction of the iron-framed conservatory at Chatsworth House and the Crystal Palace built in 1851, conservatories become very popular amongst the Victorian nobility who used their conservatories as greenhouses. This changed nearing the end of the 19th century, when many homeowners built conservatories for the purpose of hosting intimate social events such as tea parties.

These days, modern conservatories have a number of different uses, from providing storage to acting as an additional living space. Perfect for lounging, resting and even entertaining, a bespoke conservatory can be utilised in a number of ways and is ideal if you’re looking for a more cost-effective, simple yet versatile way of extending your home’s interior spaces.

At Majestic Designs, we have a leading team of highly skilled and experienced professionals who can design and create the perfect conservatory for you and your family. Whether you’re looking for something a little different or have a ‘difficult’ site where you’d like your conservatory installed, our experienced team can provide the product knowledge and guidance required to create and build a stunning, bespoke conservatory for your property. Choose from an array of shapes, sizes and colours with a variety of roofing and glazing options also on offer. The lifestyle benefits of a bespoke conservatory

A modern conservatory has much to offer your property including a number of lifestyle benefits. Perhaps most pertinent, a conservatory is ideal in the warmer summer months. Conservatories create a seamless transition between your interior living spaces and your garden, bringing you and your family closer to nature and introducing the much revered and sought after ‘indoor-outdoor’ flow. This not only increases the value of your property and enhances its ‘kerb appeal’ but also creates a beautiful, naturally light area for you to entertain visitors and enjoy the garden. Ideal during the summer, you’ll have the option to throw back your conservatory doors and let nature in.

Conservatories can also be ideal during the cooler months. In the winter for example, your conservatory will allow an influx of natural light on even the cloudiest of days. This is as a result of the expansive panes of uninterrupted glass typical of a modern conservatory. Featuring heightened energy efficiency and security, your home will be kept warm and dry while still allowing for natural light to fill your interior living spaces.

      Secure conservatories

For many modern homeowners, security is a primary concern when it comes to private properties. That’s why our bespoke range of conservatories, windows and doors are engineered with heightened security in mind. Manufactured with innovative multi-point locking mechanisms, durable double glazing, internal beading and other modern features, you can rest assured your conservatory will not compromise the security of your home in any way.

      FAQs

What is the history of conservatories?

The word conservatory comes from the Italian word conservato, meaning stored or preserved, and the Latin word ory, meaning a place for. Originally used to describe a non-glazed structure where food was stored, conservatories were later used for conserving or protecting plants from the effects of adverse weather.

The first known conservatory in Britain as we know them now was constructed in 1637 in the Botanic Gardens of Oxford University. Conservatories were hugely popular amongst the nobility during the Victorian era. Ideal for keeping foreign plants and fruit trees protected from the volatile British weather, conservatories were also ideal for lounging and entertaining. The popularity of conservatories among Britain’s wealthy was largely due to the cost of wrought iron and the hefty tax placed on glass up in England up until 1845.

Although popularity dipped at the beginning of the 20th century, conservatories become popular once again following the end of World War II. Today, conservatories are an enduring, versatile feature of many British homes. There has also been great strides in technology in recent years, meaning conservatories can now be engineered with a number of contemporary conveniences such as double glazing, under-floor heating and self-cleaning glass.

How much do bespoke conservatories cost?

The cost of installing your conservatory will come down to the exact specifications of your home as well as your own personal tastes.

For an accurate quote, contact Majestic Designs. Our leading teams of FENSA accredited and MTC registered installers can assess the unique features of your home and give you an accurate quote based on what you require.

Will my conservatory reduce exterior noise?

Your bespoke conservatory will be engineered with weatherproof seals and innovative double glazing. This not only insulates your home from the effects of adverse weather but also seals your living spaces from any exterior noise pollution.

For additional insulation, you might also want to consider installing acoustic glass.

Does my conservatory have to be white?

It’s not hard to see why white is one of the most popular colours here at Majestic Designs. Timeless and elegant, white suits both traditional and contemporary properties alike regardless of style or age. Contrary to popular belief however, your conservatory doesn’t have to be white.

At Majestic Designs, we’re always striving to exceed the expectations of our customers. We offer a variety of different styles and colours across our range of bespoke conservatories.

Majestic Designs will always strive to meet our customers’ expectations, and as a result we offer a variety of different colours and styles across our range of patio doors. For a bright aesthetic oozing countryside charm, you might opt for a Chartwell Green or even Cream. For a modern, contemporary look however, you could stick with classic White Woodgrain or go for something a little more ‘out there’ like French Grey or even Black.

At the end of the day, the colour you choose for your conservatory will depend entirely on the aesthetics of your property and your own personal taste. We also offer a number of different styles of conservatory, from more modern designs to the traditional structures typical of the Victorian or even Edwardian era.

Can I install new windows to match?
