A local North Somerset homeowner is running a raffle to win her house! The 17-room detached property is located in Pill, just south of Bristol. It is only 5 minutes from the M5 motorway and 10 minutes from Bristol city centre. Set in half an acre of spectacular gardens, the 19th century building has a wealth of period features and would make a perfect family home.
The reasons behind the raffle
The property is owned by hat maker Tricia Hamilton, who runs her own hat making business. Tricia, who is originally from Surrey, wants to sell her home to fund her move back to the south east to be closer to her family and raise money to invest in her business.
She originally put her house on the market just over a year ago but even after reducing the price considerably, hasn’t been able to find a buyer. She heard about the possibility of running a house raffle in the press and was immediately drawn to the idea. She will have to sell 500,000 tickets at £2 per ticket to cover her asking price and costs.

To ensure that the raffle meets all the legal requirements of a competition with a large value prize, there must be an element of skill or knowledge involved in the process. The house itself
Roselands was built in 1829. It consists of four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two reception rooms, several outbuildings, and an acre of land. It has undergone extensive renovations in recent years and has been completely modernised while still retaining its traditional character. Period features are rife throughout the property including exposed timber beams, restored original flooring, feature fireplace with wood burner, and fully landscaped gardens. Tricia has been careful to preserve all the original features while creating a contemporary living area with every high-end amenity.
