Majestic Designs are awarded grade A for energy efficiency
West Country windows bear the brunt of some severe weather. As a result Majestic Designs are delighted to announce that all of our windows have now been certified as “Grade A “under the BRFC rating scheme. This means that Majestic designs windows are among the most energy efficient available.

How is the BRFC grade worked out?
 The British Fenestration Ratings Council devised the BRFC certification scheme because conventional ways of measuring and grading energy efficiency failed to take into account critical factors such as how much energy a window can gain.

Rather than simply assigning a U-value, the BRFC grade is awarded based on the following criteria:
•    the thermal transmittance (the U-value)
•    the solar factor (the g-value)
•    and air leakage (L50)

The scale runs from A to G, with A being the most energy efficient.

What Makes Majestic Designs PVCu Windows So Energy Efficient?

Glass – Incorporating a combination of Diamante and Planitherm glazing. The low emission coating of this Glass absorbs radiation from the sun whilst reflecting internal heat to keep your house warmer.

Argon Filled Units – This completely harmless gas does not conduct heat as well as air and when combined with our especially soft coated glass provides the ultimate in insulation.

Warm Edge Spacer Bars – Spacers separate the panes of glass in a double glazed unit. Ours conduct less heat or cold than traditional aluminium. Swisspacer ‘V’ Spacer Bar also ensures that your sealed unit lasts longer than conventional sealed units with a metal spacer bar.
